When I was a student, I used Microsoft Word in all of my English and literature classes to write essays. Also, I utilized Microsoft in my history classes when I wrote research papers. Microsoft word is a program in which the majority of all classes use it. My teachers would also use Microsoft to write reports and examples to show the class. Microsoft word is just a useful program that it used by all students and teachers.

 

The standard that I picked was a learner. What a learner means is you learn different things every day either from a website source or just someone else in general. Also is a type of technology where kids learn from it as well. It is important to students because day by day students learn something different from their educator every day. Students are not always going to know everything day by day students learn something different everyday.Being a learner is important for students because they need to learn to be able to understand new material.

 

I do agree with the say that today digital native is what today's youth is. Due to Covid everything is done online and all they can do is have class online and that is why I agree. Today's youth all they do is play video games online and are just stuck to their computer due for them not being able to do anything else. That is why I say that I agree with today's youth being called digital native.

    Hey Cristian, I see that we have had the same experience with using word specifically for writing essays in highschool such as in AP literature ands AP lang. I think that Microsoft word is something that is used for everyone in k-12 and other platforms like google docs aren't introduced until later years. Also, I chose the standard of being a learner but I incorporated it into being a teacher and I really like that you related it to being a student. Even as a teacher, you still are a student when it comes to learning new technology or protocols enforced in your school system. I can definitely agree with you saying that all of today's youth plays video games and stay stuck on their computer, why do you think that is?

    Hey Christian, I have also always used word and is a program used all the time by students since that is what teachers will accept. Learners are very important in a classroom setting, if teachers are unable to learn new things as the world evolves, students will not be prepared for the real world or be comfortable using new tools or platforms available.

                                                          Blog Journal  8       After working on the web design it helped me learn new things and improve on some new skills. The best thing was that I was able to create my own page as if I had a class and that made the assignment very fun.  Blog Journal 9          As a distanced learner this semester the experience has been alright because everything has been online. The learning is still there but it affects the teachers because they can not really teach a lesson online because some students may be doing something else due to the fact that some are not on camera. At first I felt very overwhelmed because I had a bunch of assignments and I did not know if I would miss a certain assignment. For the future I would make the classes very interesting by doing learning games and making the class fun due to the fact that I know most of my students stress about other classes and would not want to make them feel overwhelmed.
